Cairo: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of Iraqi Parliament, on the sidelines of the Seventh Conference of the Arab Parliament and the Presidents of Arab Councils and Parliaments at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
According to Emirates News Agency, Saqr Ghobash highlighted the strength of the fraternal relations between the UAE and Iraq. He reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting efforts that contribute to Iraq's stability and the aspirations of its people for development and prosperity. Ghobash also emphasized the importance of joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries to benefit both nations and promote regional and international stability.
During their meeting, the discussion centered on enhancing cooperation across various fields. A key focus was on the significance of parliamentary collaboration between the two councils and the exchange of visits and expertise for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
Al-Mashhadani expressed Iraq's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the UAE in all fields. He praised the strong parliamentary ties between the two nations and the mutual cooperation and support extended in regional and international parliamentary forums.
