Abu dhabi: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), held separate meetings with Dr. Muzaffar Mustafa Al Jubouri, Ambassador of Iraq; Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of China; Igor Bely, Ambassador of Belarus; and Ramunas Davidonis, Ambassador of Lithuania at the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in activating parliamentary relations between the Federal National Council and the respective countries' parliamentary councils.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meetings emphasized the importance of exchanging visits and parliamentary expertise while strengthening coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest. Ghobash's discussion with the Iraqi Ambassador focused on strengthening bilateral relations in various sectors, particularly parliamentary cooperation. He highlighted the historic ties between the two nations and commended Al Jubouri's efforts in enhancing bilateral relations, wishing him success as his term concludes.
In discussions with the Chinese Ambassador, Ghobash explored ways to develop parliamentary relations, noting the strategic ties between the UAE and China. Both nations are keen to develop relations across political, economic, cultural, educational, and investment sectors. He praised Zhang Yiming's role in strengthening cooperation and wished him continued success.
During the meeting with the Ambassador of Belarus, Ghobash affirmed that UAE-Belarus relations are grounded in strong friendship and cooperation. He noted that the UAE is a key strategic partner for Belarus, supported by agreements that enhance economic cooperation.
In talks with the Lithuanian Ambassador, Ghobash stressed the importance of developing economic and parliamentary relations, highlighting the role of collaboration in areas like artificial intelligence, innovation, tourism, and sustainable development. These efforts align with the UAE's strategic goals for growth and development.
