Sharjah: Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), hosted delegations from Russia and India at the council's headquarters, aiming to foster international cooperation and expand economic and knowledge partnerships. The meetings included several council members and focused on enhancing global expertise exchange.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Russian delegation, led by Dr. Hossam Azzam, Education Ambassador at the Academy of Financial Sciences under the Russian Federation's government, and Anya Goryacheva, Coordinator of Russian-Emirati Economic Relations, discussed strengthening academic ties with Sharjah's educational institutions, particularly the University of Sharjah. The Russian representatives expressed gratitude to Dr. Al Nuaimi for his efforts in enhancing cooperation between Sharjah and Moscow, which aids in consolidating academic and economic partnerships.
Dr. Hossam Azzam invited Dr. Al Nuaimi to Moscow as a guest of honour at the International Financial Forum, organised by the Financial University. This invitation aims to leverage Dr. Al Nuaimi's experience in governance and strategic foresight. Discussions also highlighted the importance of sustainable educational relationships between academic institutions in the UAE and Russia to support students and researchers, reinforcing Sharjah's global knowledge role.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also met with Dr. Gulrez Sheikh, an Indian strategic affairs expert visiting the UAE. The meeting focused on UAE-India strategic relations and the significance of cultural and intellectual understanding in regional stability and development. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the importance of such engagements in strengthening international relations and promoting cultural communication.
He reiterated SCC's commitment to cooperating with regional and international institutions, aligning with His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's vision to position Sharjah as a global centre for cultural and intellectual enlightenment.
