SCCI and Oman Chamber Explore Joint Investment Opportunities

Sharjah: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in North Al Batinah Governorate, focusing on enhancing economic and trade collaboration. The meeting aimed to establish joint frameworks to support business communities in Sharjah and Oman, explore promising opportunities in the industrial and manufacturing sectors, and promote private sector investment to serve the strategic growth objectives of both regions.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at the Sharjah Chamber premises, where Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, welcomed Saeed bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of OCCI-North Al Batinah, along with his delegation. The discussions also included Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; Rashid bin Salem Al Ghafri, Director of OCCI's branch in North Batinah Governorate; and other senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, the Omani delegation extended an invitation to the Sharjah Chamber to participate in the second Suhar Investment Forum 2026, scheduled for February 4-5 in North Al Batinah, Oman. This forum aims to spotlight investment opportunities in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, heavy industries, medical, food, and recycling projects, thus reinforcing the region's status as a leading industrial hub.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais highlighted that Sharjah's economic relations with Oman exemplify a model of integration and cooperation. He emphasized the Chamber's dedication to transforming these ties into concrete investment projects, offering entrepreneurs and investors new avenues to enhance trade flows and business expansion in strategic markets. Al Owais also noted the Chamber's focus on sectors essential to the future economy, including advanced manufacturing, logistics, and energy.

Saeed bin Ali Al Abri detailed the preparations by the Oman Chamber branch in North Al Batinah for hosting the Suhar Investment Forum 2026. He confirmed that the event would provide interactive platforms for manufacturers and business executives from Sharjah and the UAE to engage with Omani counterparts, exploring opportunities for regional and global market expansion.

The meeting underscored the strategic importance of hosting joint economic events and participating in major investment forums to empower the private sector and create growth opportunities. It also highlighted the objective of developing a unified vision, fostering industrial innovation, and leveraging tourism and commercial assets to strengthen the competitive position of business communities in the region.
