Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired a Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) meeting at the Ruler's Office, with the presence of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Vice Chairmen of the SEC.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council discussed several topics, focusing on monitoring government departments' performance and their plans for enhancing environmental sustainability and service quality. These discussions included the development and expansion of Sharjah's waste management system, aligned with the UAE's strategic objectives for carbon neutrality by 2050. This initiative aims to build an integrated waste management system, promoting environmental sustainability and resource preservation.
The Council's initiatives reflect a commitment to improving waste collection, treatment, and recycling mechanisms using global practices and modern technologies. These efforts are intended to enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and lessen reliance on landfills. This approach supports future expansions to accommodate urban and population growth while protecting resources for future generations.
A significant focus of the meeting was the 'Aqari' platform, Sharjah's integrated digital system for the real estate sector. The Council reviewed a report detailing the platform's progress, including its completion of the first phase, which streamlined property management by registering companies, listing properties, and offering rental services digitally. The platform has processed over 112,000 transactions, listed 95,000 units, and registered approximately 5,000 companies, achieving a 90% reduction in transaction times and a complete digital service transformation.
The Council praised the platform's staff for their efforts and reiterated their commitment to enhancing digital service quality and operational efficiency to meet user expectations, aligning with best government practices.
