Second Edition of Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Concludes in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The second edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup reached its final stop Saturday evening after a series of international rounds, which spanned many countries in various continents all around the world, culminating at the Bait Al Arab Arena in Kuwait. Roughly 150 horses belonging to 91 owners competed in the final leg, while qualifying classes were held for the following categories: Yearling Fillies, Yearling Colts, Junior Colts, as well as Senior Mares and Senior Stallions. Finally, the championship rounds were held and produced gold medalists for each category.

According to Emirates News Agency, the closing ceremony marked the culmination of the competition and vast participation from Arabian horse studs and owners. It was attended by prominent officials and a large audience, reinforcing the championship's status as a major international event dedicated to Arabian horses. Notable attendees included Sheikh Hamad Khaled Al Sabah; Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Ambassador of the UAE to Kuwait; and Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the EAHS and Vice Chairman of the EAHGC Committee, among others.

A total of 791 horses, owned by approximately 460 participants, took part in the second edition of the EAHGC, with prize money totaling AED3.986 million. The event saw 488 winning horses and 342 winning owners, highlighting the championship's international growth. The second edition built on the success of the inaugural event and showcased the UAE's commitment to supporting Arabian horse owners and breeders, enhancing the breed's global presence, and preserving the Arab cultural heritage linked to these horses.

In the Kuwait leg's Yearling Fillies Championship, Rewaya Al Fayyad, owned by Mosleh Al Enezi, claimed the gold, with Seetah Al Seet taking silver for owner Khaled Al Azmi, and Asayel Nadera winning bronze for Othman Al Obaid. In the Junior Fillies Championship, DOC Jailan, owned by Fahad Alkandari, won gold, while Nourah Al Badwah earned silver for Abdulrahman Mohammed Alajmi, and Alihandra of Al Dhafrah Stud took bronze.

The Senior Mares Championship saw Abhar Maleekah, owned by Hussain and Khalifah Al Dabbous, win gold, Asayel Madarah of Al Jasmi Stud take silver, and Justicia AE earn bronze for Mohammed Essam Al Sahhaf. Asayel Majd, owned by Khaled Al Nughaimshi, won gold in the Yearling Colts Championship, followed by Sultan Banat Al Reeh with silver for Abdulaziz Al Jassar, and HMF Jaber with bronze for Hamad Al Enezi.

In the Junior Colts Championship, Almuhannad Aljasmi secured gold for Al Jasmi Stud, Abhar Rashad took silver for Hussin and Khalifa Al Dabbous, and Qais Al Fayyad won bronze for Mosleh Al Enezi. Waseem Al Bahya, owned by Meshal Salem Al Mesbah, won gold in the Senior Stallions Championship, with Hafeet taking silver for Abdullateef Al Rumaih, and Dollar Al Remas earning bronze for Ali Al Hendal.

The championship's first leg took place in Australia from January 31 to February 2, 2025, followed by rounds in Bahrain, Morocco, China, Poland, Belgium, the United States, Argentina, and Italy before concluding in Kuwait.
