DAKAR: Senegal has announced the launch of its first satellite, 'GindeSat-1A', into space. Local media reported that the satellite, which was launched on Friday via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Base in California, is intended to monitor the Earth and collect and analyse data that will support natural resource management, disaster prevention, and agricultural development.
