Senior Abu Dhabi Delegation Visits Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City to Assess Care for Injured


Abu dhabi: A senior delegation from Abu Dhabi visited Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) to assess the condition of individuals injured due to regional incidents and review the level of treatment services provided to them. The visit aimed to ensure the readiness of the emirate’s integrated healthcare system.



According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation included prominent figures such as Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team for Abu Dhabi; Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, and Dr. Rashed Alsuwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC).



During the visit, the delegation received briefings from medical staff about the cases admitted, treatment plans, and coordination mechanisms between healthcare facilities and relevant entities. This coordination is part of an integrated response system designed to ensure rapid intervention and efficient care.



The delegation highlighted the integration of medical and specialised teams, along with the advanced clinical and technical capabilities that support the management of cases according to high standards of professionalism. They affirmed that the emirate’s healthcare sector operates at full capacity, backed by emergency response protocols and an effective coordination framework among health, security, and service entities. This reflects the advanced level of preparedness and the ability to provide comprehensive care without interrupting normal healthcare services.



Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi expressed appreciation for the efforts of the medical and technical teams. He noted that the visit was part of a commitment to direct on-site follow-up and strengthen integration across system mechanisms, aligned with the leadership’s directives to provide care and support under all circumstances.



Al Muhairi emphasized that safety is a top priority, praising the coordination among relevant entities and the readiness of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi. He assured that injured individuals are receiving full attention and care, reaffirming their safety and recovery as a priority.



Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori confirmed that the health and safety of community members remain a high priority. He stated that the healthcare sector ecosystem is prepared and coordinated with stakeholders to ensure continuous service provision. Al Mansoori explained that through the Unified Medical Operations Command Centre (UMOC), injuries are assessed immediately, and ambulance teams are directed to suitable facilities based on each case.



The visit concluded with a commitment to continue medical follow-up, support frontline teams, and advance the emirate’s approach to providing a humanitarian and professional response that protects the community and safeguards its welfare.
