Sharjah: In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has embarked on the first phase of the natural gas network connection project for Al Dhaid City. The project aims to enhance the region's infrastructure and provide a sustainable energy solution for its residents.
According to Emirates News Agency, the current completion rate of the project has reached 46%, with the first phase expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2026, as per the approved timetable. Engineer Ibrahim Al Balgouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, stated that the first phase involves extending the natural gas pipeline to the Jabal Omar and Tal Al Zafran neighborhoods. This extension covers 83 kilometers and comes at a total cost of AED14 million, aiming to serve approximately 989 residents in the area.
Al Balgouni further emphasized that SEWA is committed to developing a modern and sustainable infrastructure. The authority is focused on expanding the natural gas network across the Emirate of Sharjah to support the vision of the leadership for comprehensive development and community well-being. The connection of natural gas services to Al Dhaid is seen as a significant improvement in service quality, offering a safer and more economical alternative to traditional gas cylinders. This project is expected to enhance the quality of life and stimulate growth across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors of the city.
