Sharjah: The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work has unveiled the 'Environment Heroes' competition, inviting children aged 7 to 12 to engage by sharing innovative ideas on the importance of volunteering for environmental protection. According to Emirates News Agency, this initiative is launched in alignment with World Environment Day and calls for participants to create a short video, no more than 60 seconds, which showcases a unique concept emphasizing the role of volunteering in conserving the environment. Children are encouraged to utilize their personal skills such as acting, storytelling, drawing, or documenting daily life to effectively convey their message. The award organizers have specified that participants must reside within the UAE. The video submissions should be of high quality, appropriate for sharing on social media, and must maintain the intellectual property rights of the creators. For registration and submission, entries should be sent to the email address [email protected] by 30th June 202 5, with the final video submissions due by 31st July 2025. Winners of the competition will be revealed in August 2025. The evaluation criteria will focus on the clarity of the environmental message, creativity in presentation and direction, the video's potential appeal on social media, as well as the overall quality of production and sound.
