Sharjah Civil Defence Introduces Free Digital Certificates for Fire Victims

Sharjah:Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has introduced a new digital service providing residents affected by residential fires with a free, officially approved damage assessment certificate immediately after firefighting operations conclude.

According to Emirates News Agency, the 'Damage Assessment Certificate' service is issued automatically and sent directly to the affected residents via SMS and email. This process eliminates the need for a prior application or a visit to any government entity.

The certificate details the affected resident's information, property address, and the fire damage assessment. Residents are required only to provide their Emirates ID number, as other procedures are completed digitally through identity data integration, requiring no additional documents.

Major General Yousef Obaid bin Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, stated that the initiative underscores the authority's commitment to community responsibility and support for families affected by fires. He emphasized the importance of simplifying procedures and reducing the time and effort needed to access essential services for families facing such circumstances.

He also mentioned that the authority continuously develops its services based on customer needs, utilizing digital integration to simplify procedures and reduce requirements. The proactive service approach aims to meet residents' needs promptly without adding administrative burdens.

The service considers the psychological and financial impact of residential fires, especially in the immediate aftermath when families are arranging their essential needs. By providing the certificate free of charge through digital channels, the authority allows affected residents to obtain official documentation without visiting a service center or submitting a separate application.
