Sharjah Finance Award Seminar Aims to Expand Kuwaiti Participation

Sharjah:The Sharjah Award in Public Finance recently conducted a virtual seminar in collaboration with the Civil Service Bureau of Kuwait and the Arab Administrative Development Organisation. This seminar aimed to introduce the fourth edition of the Award to Kuwaiti government bodies, providing an overview of its aims, categories, assessment criteria, and participation process. The initiative seeks to broaden participation channels and support the promotion of public financial management across the Arab world.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Finance Department and Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance, emphasized the seminar's significance in enhancing cooperation with Kuwait and raising awareness about the Award among Arab government institutions. He highlighted the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to use the Award as a platform for celebrating financial achievements and encouraging institutions to improve performance and financial systems, thereby fostering cooperation across the Arab region.

He pointed out that these seminars clarify the methodology of the Sharjah Award in Public Finance, aiding prospective participants in understanding evaluation criteria and requirements. He stressed that excellence in financial management is evaluated based on tangible results and efficient resource utilization rather than the scale of initiatives.

The seminar provided a comprehensive presentation on the fourth edition of the Sharjah Award, detailing the Award's objectives, eligible participants, assessment criteria, and submission requirements. It also addressed the need for clear institutional methodologies in financial resource management and performance measurement, enabling participating organizations to showcase their progress in financial and administrative practices.
