Sharjah Heritage Institute Launches Engaging Summer Camp for Children

Sharjah: The Sharjah Heritage Institute has inaugurated the "Sharjah Summer Camp," a program designed specifically for children aged 7 to 12. Taking place from July 14 to 24 at the institute's headquarters, the camp offers daily activities from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The initiative aims to educate children about Emirati heritage while fostering a strong sense of national identity through interactive and enjoyable experiences.

According to Emirates News Agency, Aisha Ghabish, who oversees events and activities at the institute, emphasized the camp's mission to increase awareness of national heritage among children. Ghabish stated, "The camp reflects our mission to raise awareness of our national heritage among children. We want to present it in ways that are modern and interesting to them, allowing them to explore Emirati identity in an enjoyable way."

Marwa Jassim Al Mazmi, the event coordinator, explained that this year's theme, "Sharjah Summer Camp," symbolizes traditional summer gathering places. The camp offers a diverse range of activities, including events, hands-on workshops, and field trips. Some highlights include a play titled "Towards Fifty," workshops focused on desert life, and engaging puppet shows.

Throughout the duration of the camp, children will participate in workshops such as spinning and weaving, folk storytelling sessions titled "The Jewel of the Tale" and "Pearls and Jewels of Tales," traditional cooking classes, and educational visits to local attractions including the Sharjah Falconers Club, the Camelicious Factory, and the Rubu' Qarn Foundation.

The camp will wrap up on Thursday, July 24, with a closing ceremony featuring a panel discussion called "Building a Generation That Holds Our Heads High," storytelling performances titled "The Magical World of Tales," and an open session for questions. Additionally, a recognition ceremony will be held to award participants with certificates for their achievements during the camp.
