Sharjah Institute for Heritage Makes History with Unique Diploma Accreditation

Sharjah: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) has achieved a significant milestone by receiving official accreditation from the National Qualifications Centre, affiliated with the Ministry of Education, for its pioneering academic programme, "Diploma in Business Administration in Cultural and Museum Institutions". This accreditation marks it as the first professional programme of its kind both within the country and the surrounding region.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, President of the SIH, emphasized that the new national accreditation underscores the institute's dedication to delivering exceptional education in the cultural domain. The diploma programme aims to equip professionals with innovative skills and insights necessary to advance the cultural sector.

Dr. Al Musallam elaborated, "This diploma is part of a larger effort to build the skills needed to improve cultural and museum organisations, focusing on areas like management, promotion, and innovation. We believe that preserving our heritage is not just about keeping records, but also about managing it in ways that keep it relevant and vibrant in our society."

Dr. Khaled Al Shehhi, Academic Director of the SIH, highlighted the institute's commitment to aligning its curriculum with international best practices, including topics such as digital transformation and audience diversity. He also announced forthcoming programmes in popular culture and architectural heritage, aimed at expanding the institute's specialisations and promoting sustainable cultural development in the nation.
