Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 to Host Renowned Authors and Thinkers

Sharjah: The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), scheduled from 5th to 16th November at Expo Centre Sharjah, will feature a notable assembly of global authors, including Nigerian literary figure Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Italian physicist Carlo Rovelli, and Irish Booker Prize recipient Paul Lynch.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event will also highlight Indian International Booker laureate Banu Mushtaq, British psychologist Dr Julie Smith, and American thriller author Chris Pavone. The fair will additionally spotlight a new generation of digital-era storytellers who are reshaping modern literature.

This year's edition exemplifies SIBF's commitment to celebrating literature's ability to connect languages, ideas, and generations through its diverse representation of cultures and disciplines.

From Africa, Adichie, a significant literary voice, will introduce her latest novel, Dream Count (2025), at SIBF. Her previous works, such as Americanah and Half of a Yellow Sun, have been translated into over 55 languages and have received numerous international accolades, including the MacArthur Fellowship and the Women's Prize for Fiction.

Europe will be represented by Rovelli, author of Seven Brief Lessons on Physics and The Order of Time, known for merging science with philosophy, and Lynch, whose Booker-winning Prophet Song is celebrated for its emotional resonance. The UK's Dr Julie Smith, author of the bestseller Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?, and historian David Wengrow, co-author of The Dawn of Everything, will also participate.

From Asia, Mushtaq, the first Kannada-language writer to achieve the International Booker Prize, will present Heart Lamp. She will be joined by Indian digital creator Prajakta Koli, Pakistan's Mira Sethi, author of Are You Enjoying?, and Urdu playwright Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi.

North America will see Pavone, known for The Doorman and Two Nights in Lisbon, and Danish-American sustainability advocate Armen Adamjan, creator of Creative Explained, whose work promotes environmentally conscious living.

SIBF 2025 will host numerous sessions, author talks, book signings, and cultural events across literature, science, technology, and sustainability, reinforcing Sharjah's position as a central hub for knowledge and creativity.
