Sharjah Ruler Announces Women’s Tower Initiative in Kalba

Kalba:Sharjah His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has unveiled a new initiative for the residents of Kalba, announcing the construction of a women's tower near the University of Kalba. The tower will be situated across from the clock tower, with its design finalized and construction already underway on its foundations.

According to Wam, the Ruler of Sharjah expressed his joy in launching new projects, reflecting on cherished childhood memories of the Al-Islah Al-Qasimia school's opening. He emphasized the importance of creating spaces like the women's tower, which will provide a private and enjoyable environment for women, without intruding on the privacy of nearby residences.

His Highness discussed the existing clock tower at the university's entrance, stating that while it is intended for all, the area is primarily for men. The new women's tower is being constructed at the far end of the university grounds, directly opposite the existing tower. This new structure promises an attractive design and a magnificent view, ensuring privacy and enjoyment for its visitors. It is strategically located, surrounded by the university, a cooperative society, Kalba Creek, an island, a public park, and a cemetery.

Reflecting on his past, His Highness shared memories from his first grade in 1947, recalling the opening of the Al-Islah Al-Qasimia School and the songs sung by students at the time. He recently discovered a complete poem from that era, attributed to Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, which adds to his cherished recollections.

In conclusion, His Highness emphasized the lasting impact of these memories and moments from his youth, expressing gratitude for the beautiful experiences that have characterized his life.
