Sharjah Ruler Inaugurates 5th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 5th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education (SISIE) at the Sharjah Education Academy on the University City campus. The event also marked the honoring of winners of the 31st Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence.

According to Emirates News Agency, the summit, organized by the Sharjah Education Academy and the Sharjah Private Education Authority, spans two days under the theme 'Together We Make an Impact.' It aims to reinforce Sharjah's commitment to sustainable improvement, partnerships, and linking educational visions with practical applications, thereby enhancing the educational system from early childhood to higher education and lifelong learning.

The opening ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem and a visual presentation summarizing the summit's journey since its inception. Key achievements and statistics from past editions were highlighted. Sara bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, emphasized the summit's role in addressing educational challenges, stressing the importance of innovation, critical thinking, and inclusive education.

Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Education Academy and the Sharjah Private Education Authority, expressed gratitude to His Highness for his support and highlighted various educational initiatives in Sharjah. She discussed the integrated educational programme and the role of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence in fostering high standards.

The event also featured a segment showcasing an Emirati family's educational journey, and Dr. Burhan Shakroun of UNESCO praised Sharjah's educational model, emphasizing collaboration between global and local institutions. His Highness honored 50 recipients of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, recognizing their contributions to educational practices.

The summit concluded with the signing of agreements between various entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sharjah Finance Department, and Sharjah Islamic Bank, aiming to enhance institutional integration and digital authentication services. Another agreement between the Sharjah Education Academy and the Investment Bank was signed, providing additional scholarships to support early childhood education development.

The summit features over 130 scientific and practical sessions, including workshops and courses, focusing on exchanging experiences and promoting practical educational solutions. Prior to the summit's opening, advanced training courses targeted educational leaders and researchers, covering topics like early childhood education and artificial intelligence in education.

Notable attendees included Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sara bint Youssef Al Amiri, Abdulrahman Al Awor, Halima Al Owais, and various government officials, educational leaders, and experts from around the world.
