Sharjah Ruler Recognizes Winners of Cultural Heritage Awards

Sharjah:His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the ceremony to honor the winners of the sixth edition of the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage (SIACH) at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage's theatre.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event began with a performance by the Sharjah National Band and included a presentation on the SIACH's journey and objectives. Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the SIACH, praised the Ruler's efforts in cultural preservation and highlighted the award's international approach to safeguarding heritage.

Dr Abdulla Al Taboor Al Nuaimi was named Cultural Heritage Personality of the Year. In the Best Practices for Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage category, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO), and Zhu Wucheng from China were recognized.

The Best Research and Studies in Cultural Heritage category honored Dr Fatema Ali Mohammed Ali Al Memari, researchers Huda bint Mubarak bin Humaid and Thuraya bint Abdullah from Oman, and Davor Sedlarevic from Montenegro. In the Best Narrators and Bearers of Cultural Heritage category, Rashid bin Abdulla Al Mahyan Al Ketbi, Hafida Hamoud from Morocco, and Wee Shelia Moira Nee Wilson from Singapore were awarded.

The ceremony concluded with honors for the judging panel, sponsors, partners, supporters, and the scientific committee, attended by various officials and specialists.
