Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, reviewed the first edition of the Dubai State of AI Report and witnessed the official announcement of Dubai's AI Policy for Government Entities during his visit to Dubai AI Week 2025.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the report's significance in showcasing the pivotal role of AI in transforming government services in Dubai and illustrating the progress of AI adoption across government entities. He stressed the necessity for Dubai's government entities to be prepared for impending transformations driven by artificial intelligence.
The report and policy were launched by Digital Dubai and the Dubai Future Foundation at the Digital Dubai Showcase during Dubai AI Week, which runs from April 21 to 25 under the patronage of His Highness. The event is organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, an initiative of DFF.
The launch was attended by Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai Authority. The report provides a detailed overview of how AI is transforming government services and operations across the emirate. Developed in collaboration between Digital Dubai and DFF, the report examines over 100 AI use cases across sectors such as urban planning, healthcare, finance, and more.
The AI Policy for Government Entities, also introduced at the event, establishes a governance framework for AI deployment across government departments, focusing on principles like explainability and human-centricity. This policy positions Dubai as a benchmark for responsible AI adoption, ensuring ethical considerations in every AI deployment phase.
The report outlines AI's role in enhancing social well-being, with impacts on early disease detection, emergency response, and public health planning. At Dubai AI Week, Digital Dubai's exhibition features demonstrations of various AI use cases, aligning with the city's digital transformation agenda.
The report concludes with a vision for AI in Dubai through 2035, focusing on predictive public services, agile governance, and a robust AI research ecosystem. The Dubai State of AI Report and AI Policy mark a new chapter in Dubai's journey towards structured, scalable, and responsible AI implementation.
