Abu Dhabi:Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, welcomed a delegation from Lebanon's Maronite Antonine Order at his majlis in Abu Dhabi. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to enhance dialogue and promote values of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity.
According to Wam, the delegation included Father Bechara Elia, General Administrator of the Maronite Antonine Order, and Father Charbel Bou Abboud, Director of the Antonine Technical Institute in Dekwaneh. Sherif Beshara, Group Chief Executive Officer of Mohamed and Obaid Al Mulla Group and American Hospital Dubai, accompanied the delegation.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal relations and historical ties between the UAE and Lebanon. He underscored the significance of fostering dialogue and openness towards different cultures and religions to strengthen communication and cooperation among peoples, thereby creating opportunities for peace, development, and prosperity.
The meeting highlighted the UAE's leadership in promoting tolerance and coexistence, reflecting a commitment to cultural and religious diversity. Sheikh Nahyan commended efforts to advance noble human values and stressed the importance of developing initiatives that build bridges of communication and understanding among peoples.
Father Bechara Elia expressed gratitude to Sheikh Nahyan for the warm welcome and praised the UAE's role in promoting tolerance and dialogue. He detailed the efforts of the Antonine Technical Institute in promoting the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity through various cultural and educational initiatives.
During the meeting, the delegation presented Sheikh Nahyan with publications on the Document on Human Fraternity and a commemorative plaque crafted from Lebanese cedar wood, symbolizing Lebanon's cultural heritage. The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening engagement among religious, cultural, and educational organizations to foster a culture of dialogue and mutual respect.
