Al Arish:Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 team members were honored by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, for their dedicated humanitarian efforts and significant contributions, which carry the UAE's name and message worldwide.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Saif commended the team for their quiet yet impactful work, which includes relief convoys and the provision of care and treatment, always prioritizing people and embodying the UAE's values through tangible actions that bring hope and support to lives globally. He highlighted the involvement of young participants from the Future Leaders Empowerment Programme in these efforts, emphasizing the importance of field commitment in serving humanity.
The delegation from the Future Leaders Empowerment Programme joined a field mission in Al Arish, Egypt, where they gained insight into the UAE's support for the Palestinian people, including logistical, medical, and relief operations. They assisted in preparing the first relief convoy from the Ahmad bin Zayed Foundation as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, which included dispatching food and health parcels to the Gaza Strip.
The participants also visited the Rafah Crossing to learn about the procedures for delivering humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, witnessing the UAE teams' efforts in providing medical and relief support.
Since the operation's launch in 2023, the UAE has delivered over 130,000 tonnes of aid to Gaza, representing about 46 percent of the total international assistance to the area. The aid was transported via 792 aircraft, more than 14,000 trucks, and 25 ships, reaching approximately 192,000 people who received medical treatment.
Furthermore, six desalination plants have been established to pump two million gallons of water daily, and 640,000 polio vaccines have been distributed. The humanitarian efforts also include hosting around 3,000 injured children, cancer patients, and their companions in the Humanitarian City, with the total cost of these efforts exceeding $4 billion.
