Sheikha Jawaher Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Humanitarian Legacy of Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation (KSQF), has emphasized the continuation of Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi's humanitarian mission to protect children globally from disasters and exploitation. She stressed that the Foundation remains dedicated to furthering his vision with determination.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikha Jawaher's remarks came during her visit to the KSQF headquarters in Sharjah, where she evaluated the progress of various projects and initiatives aligned with the Foundation's core values and mission. Sheikha Jawaher reflected on Sheikh Khalid's legacy, highlighting his commitment to creating a just and safe world for children, a vision that continues to inspire and grow.

Sheikha Jawaher noted the Foundation's significant impact since its inception, with measurable results and substantial financial contributions. She expressed optimism for continued growth and collaboration with local and international organizations to enhance child protection laws, regulations, and research.

Acknowledging the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Sheikha Jawaher praised the teamwork at KSQF, which was established in 2024 as a model for sustainable development dedicated to child protection. The Foundation collaborates with organizations like Plan International and Save the Children International and is a member of The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.

International Labour Organisation and UNICEF data indicate that approximately 138 million children globally are involved in exploitative labor, with 54 million in hazardous conditions. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reports nearly 38% of human trafficking victims are children. Additionally, UN figures reveal that 650 million girls and women have experienced forced marriage.

During her visit, Sheikha Jawaher met with Board of Trustees members to discuss KSQF's progress, upcoming initiatives, and strategic direction. She emphasized the importance of preventive awareness initiatives and community resilience in protecting children.

KSQF's first international initiatives include child protection services in Zanzibar and the Children Guardians project in Mexico, together safeguarding over 30,000 children from violence and exploitation. The Foundation's strategic framework focuses on safeguarding, advocacy, and capacity building to create resilient protection ecosystems for children.

From Sharjah, the Foundation continues to expand its global reach, promoting its vision through partnerships grounded in human values.
