Muscat: The Shura Council is set to hold its sixth, seventh, and eighth regular sessions next week, marking the third ordinary convening period of its tenth term. The sessions will feature Dr. Mahad Said Ba'awain, Minister of Labor, who will present his ministry's statement in a public session as per Article 69 of the Council of Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, the Secretary-General of the Shura Council, highlighted that the discussions will focus on the Ministry of Labor's statement during the seventh and eighth sessions. These sessions are the first of the current term dedicated to ministerial statements. The statement comprises five main themes that will guide the discussions.
The first theme will explore the Ministry's strategies for the Tenth Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) in alignment with "Oman Vision 2040," focusing on programs and their completion rates. The second theme will examine the legislations and laws governing work in both private and public sectors.
The third theme will delve into employment issues, highlighting the Ministry's efforts to balance supply and demand in the labor market and discussing sustainable job initiatives and operational programs. Training and development will be the focus of the fourth theme, with an emphasis on empowering national cadres and initiatives linking training with employment.
Finally, the fifth theme will cover digital transformation and electronic linkage. Additionally, the Council's sixth session on 6 January will concentrate on the draft Urban Planning Law, as referred by the government.
