Johannesburg:Wedela Township South African police have launched an extensive manhunt for unidentified gunmen responsible for killing 17 people and injuring 15 others in a tavern shooting southwest of Johannesburg.
According to Emirates News Agency , the attack occurred on Saturday evening, with emergency medical personnel declaring all 17 victims dead at the scene. The motive for the attack remains unknown.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were armed with AK-47 assault rifles and pistols. They reportedly searched several patrons, stealing their mobile phones, before fleeing the scene in two vehicles.
