Space42 Expands Access to Geospatial Intelligence with Launch of GIQ on Microsoft Azure

Abu dhabi: Space42 (ADX: SPACE42) today announced that its AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform, GIQ, is now available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. The launch expands Space42's global footprint, improves accessibility for customers, and strengthens the UAE's role as a leader in space-enabled decision-making.

According to Emirates News Agency, Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director-General of UAE Space Agency, highlighted the significance of this development by stating that the Space Strategy 2030 identified the Earth observation downstream sector as a key opportunity. Through a public-private partnership with Space42, a platform was established to provide young researchers, startups, and international partners with cutting-edge space data and AI capabilities. This collaboration has earned the prestigious Future Fit Prize, showcasing its meaningful impact.

Al Qubaisi further emphasized that listing the region's first AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform on Microsoft Azure Marketplace marks a strategic milestone. It underscores the UAE's leadership in space innovation and advanced analytics, facilitating access to satellite imagery and supporting innovative Earth observation applications.

Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42, stated that GIQ's availability on Azure is a defining milestone in their mission to lead globally in geospatial intelligence platforms and services. The collaboration with Microsoft and the UAE Space Agency equips organizations worldwide with scalable and accessible insights, reinforcing Space42's position as a partner of choice for governments and enterprises.

Governments, research institutions, and industries utilize geospatial intelligence for environmental monitoring, infrastructure management, and urban development. However, adoption has faced barriers such as limited accessibility and high computational requirements.

GIQ was designed to address these challenges by transforming multi-source satellite data into decision-ready intelligence quickly. The platform draws from more than 10 vendors and over 8 proprietary AI models, proven in real-world scenarios like disaster response and food security.

The platform's strategic value is defined by three core capabilities:

1. Accelerates Speed to Insights: It reduces analysis time from hours to minutes, enabling faster and more confident decisions in critical operations such as disaster response.

2. Guarantees Trusted Sovereignty: A secure AI sandbox allows governments and enterprises to process sensitive data without third-party exposure.

3. Fosters a Global Ecosystem: An open marketplace connects startups, developers, and enterprises, scaling applications to address challenges from climate resilience to food security.
