Sultan Al Jaber Awarded Honorary Fellowship by Energy Institute for Leadership in Energy and AI

Abu dhabi: Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Energy Institute (EI), recognizing his substantial contributions to the energy sector, particularly at the intersection of energy and artificial intelligence. The accolade acknowledges his efforts in driving international collaboration to enhance global energy systems that support sustainable economic growth.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Honorary Fellowship is the highest honor bestowed by the Energy Institute. It highlights Dr. Al Jaber's role in facilitating transformational deals and his commitment to delivering some of the world's lowest cost- and carbon-intensity hydrocarbons. Additionally, his work in expanding renewable energy and implementing advanced technologies aligns with the increasing global energy demand projected through 2040 and beyond.

Dr. Al Jaber currently holds multiple significant positions, including Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, Chairman of Masdar, and Executive Chairman of XRG. During Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, Dr. Al Jaber received his Honorary Fellowship from Dr. Nick Wayth FEI, Chief Executive of the Energy Institute.

The Energy Institute Council, under the leadership of President Andy Brown OBE FEI, awards the Honorary Fellowship to individuals who have made lasting contributions to the Institute's mission of promoting a just, secure, and low-carbon energy transition. President Brown emphasized Dr. Al Jaber's unique experience in fostering dialogue across government, industry, and energy sectors as global energy demand rises.

Dr. Al Jaber expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating the importance of delivering a mix of reliable, affordable, and lower-carbon energy options as global energy needs increase. He highlighted the UAE's pragmatic approach to energy, which aims to ensure a secure and sustainable future.

As Chairman of Masdar, Dr. Al Jaber has significantly increased energy capacity, positioning the company as a leader in clean energy. Masdar is on track to achieve its target of 100GW by 2030 and is pioneering the Round-the-Clock (RTC) programme for continuous renewable energy supply.

Moreover, Dr. Al Jaber has nearly doubled the enterprise value of XRG to $151 billion, achieving significant acquisitions and agreements globally. As President of COP28 UAE, he has united countries around the UAE Consensus, recognized for its ambitious climate goals.

Under his leadership, COP28 UAE has launched the Oil and Gas Decarbonisation Charter and mobilized substantial financial commitments, including the establishment of ALT‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°RRA, a climate investment vehicle aimed at mobilizing $250 billion by 2030.
