Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, presided over a meeting at Bait Elowal in the Heart of Sharjah, where he approved the establishment of two Courts of Appeal in the cities of Kalba and Al Dhaid.
According to Emirates News Agency, the decision was made during the Council's session which focused on expanding judicial services across the emirate.
The new courts are expected to handle appeals in accordance with the Judicial Authority Law, allowing better access to justice for litigants in these areas. The initiative aims to reduce the workload on central courts, minimize case processing times, and accelerate adjudication procedures. This development is part of a broader effort to ensure equitable justice and enhance customer satisfaction throughout the Emirate of Sharjah.
Additionally, the Council approved a new corporate identity for the Judicial Council, the Department of Justice, and the Public Prosecution. Inspired by the Islamic design of the Department of Justice building's dome, the identity aims to symbolize the integrated legal framework and the authenticity and integrity of the judicial mission. The Council reviewed elements such as the use of symbols and colors to convey the seriousness and independence of the judicial system.
In line with digital advancements, the Council also approved the launch of social media accounts for these entities. This step aims to strengthen their presence on digital platforms, improve public access to judicial information and services, and unify media messaging. The Council discussed plans to monitor and enhance media performance on these platforms to promote transparency and legal awareness within the community.
Furthermore, the Council approved the launch of the electronic platform 'Sharjah Judiciary,' which will provide a unified interface for accessing judicial and legal services. This platform is designed to offer a seamless digital experience, supporting the emirate's digital transformation in the justice sector and enhancing the quality of government services.
The initiative to create a secure and efficient digital environment aligns with efforts to integrate judicial entities and boost customer satisfaction, advancing Sharjah's vision of a modern judicial system built on innovation and technology.
