Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, met with Major General Arif Mohammed Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah. The meeting was held to discuss enhancing cooperation between the Sharjah Media Council (SMC) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) during his visit to the Sharjah Media Council building in Al Rahmaniyah Suburb.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council commended the efforts of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security in enhancing government services and streamlining procedures related to identity, nationality, and residency. He highlighted that the innovative initiatives introduced by the Authority align with the country's digital transformation goals and provide services that meet societal needs and expectations.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed emphasized that cooperation among government institutions reflects the leadership's vision of building an integrated work system that enhances service delivery. He praised the dedication of the teams involved and their commitment to providing top-notch customer experiences.
The meeting focused on the services offered at the centre, including identity, nationality, residency, and visa services. Discussions also covered the procedures for delivering these services and the use of smart platforms to ensure quick and accurate transactions.
Additionally, the meeting explored ways to enhance communication with the public through modern media platforms, supporting the shared mission of the Authority and the Council to serve the community and improve the government work system.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the building lobby to learn about the development plans for digital services and technologies aimed at enhancing customer experience. On the sidelines of the meeting, he inaugurated the "Al Qasimia Library," an electronic library serving the centre's employees and visitors. The library features a visual identity titled "Iqra" and includes a variety of resources accessible through smart cards.
The Deputy Ruler was informed about the library's connection to Sharjah libraries, allowing access to electronic books in various fields. He also reviewed the library's system for gathering visitor statistics to further improve services.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed visited a section dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, featuring works in various languages in collaboration with Al Qasimi Publications. The library also offers a caf©, reading rooms, and spaces for brainstorming and enhancing scientific knowledge.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed viewed a presentation about the Authority's centre in Sharjah, its services, and facilities. He also visited a theatre with modern technologies and devices to support the Authority's activities and cultural events, learning about the theatre's infrastructure for hosting seminars and lectures.
