Abu dhabi: Talal Group has broken ground on a new Central Distribution Centre at Dubai Industrial City, the region's leading manufacturing and logistics hub and part of TECOM Group PJSC. Representing an investment of AED150 million, the project marks Talal Group's largest investment to date and will enhance its logistics and supply chain capabilities, while supporting expansion across the region.
According to Emirates News Agency, the facility will span a built-up area of 350,000 sq. ft. and will be fully temperature-controlled, featuring 25,000 sq. ft. of dedicated cold chain storage, 43 loading bays, and a dedicated e-commerce operations centre. It will also house Talal Group's corporate headquarters, a wholesale cash-and-carry store, and a customer service centre, integrating the Group's logistics, retail, and corporate operations within a single campus.
Construction is currently underway, with the project slated for completion by the third quarter of 2027. Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, highlighted that the new facility underscores the UAE and Dubai's status as global trade and logistics hubs. Dubai Industrial City's advanced infrastructure and strategic location are expected to aid businesses in expanding operations and scaling across regional and international markets, aligning with Operation 300bn and the Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33'.
The new distribution hub is projected to create approximately 600 jobs once operational, bolstering the UAE's logistics and industrial workforce. Mahmood Haji Baliyil, Co-Chairman of Talal Group, emphasized that the facility will enhance regional food supply chains through its expanded cold chain capacity. The Group aims to leverage Dubai Industrial City's connectivity and industrial ecosystem to achieve its long-term growth ambitions across the region.
