At least 35 people died and 80 others were injured when an explosion occurred in a gas station in the southern Russian region of Dagestan, according to TASS news agency.
According to security officials quoted by TASS, the incident which occurred last night, was caused by an explosion in an auto repair shop adjacent to the station. They added that the blast and flames spread to the gas station, leading to the explosion of fuel tankers.
Meanwhile, security authorities announced they will launch a criminal investigation, while Dagestan announced a state of national mourning over the vicitims, TASS said.
