Dubai: Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun) and Rosoboronexport, a part of the Rostec State Corporation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their strategic cooperation in the defense and security sectors. The agreement was formalized on the sidelines of Day One at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, and Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, with senior representatives from both organizations in attendance. The agreement aims to enhance industrial participation, exchange expertise in defense production, and explore joint opportunities in research and development, technology transfer, and supply chain sectors.
The collaboration is expected to foster long-term strategic cooperation, aligning with the defense and industrial objectives of both the UAE and Russia. Dr. Nasser Al Nuaimi emphasized the significance of this agreement in advancing the UAE's defense industrial ecosystem by leveraging global expertise and enhancing local capabilities. He expressed optimism about translating the collaboration into tangible benefits for both nations.
Alexander Mikheev highlighted the successful history of cooperation between Rosoboronexport and Tawazun, which has facilitated joint Russian-UAE projects. He reiterated the commitment to deepen collaboration and expand military-technical cooperation with the UAE, emphasizing the role of Russian-made military equipment in supporting the UAE's defense capabilities. Mikheev expressed confidence in the potential for new promising projects in the future.
