Sharjah: An array of advances and innovations in AI were showcased by tech experts and inhouse companies at an event organised by the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) at a Business Breakfast event hosted under the slogan 'Born in Sharjah, Built for the World'.
According to Emirates News Agency, techies and experts from companies like Al Hathboor Bikal, Nvidia, HP, and Qamia shared insights into the world of AI and quantum computing, and referred to the pioneering innovations being created at SRTI Park. The speakers discussed the AI Factory, a structured system for end-to-end lifecycle management of AI deployment and development, which serves as an AI-centred decision-making engine optimising operations through machine learning algorithms.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, highlighted UAE's ambitions to be a leader in AI and emphasized the need for more investment in this field. He stated that the event serves as a platform to showcase Sharjah's progress in creating global innovations and aims to connect promising companies with investors. He added that SRTI Park is continuously refining its strategy to attract startups in key areas such as healthcare, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and transport.
The panelists discussed three critical elements for building an AI factory: people, technology, and economy. They underscored the importance of forming partnerships with data scientists, product managers, and CXOs. The technology stack necessary for an AI factory was described, including data centres, intelligent compute stacks, orchestration platforms, and machine learning operations. They noted how startups could leverage these technologies to expand beyond local markets and reach global audiences.
Among the highlighted products was AHB's Dialog XR, an LLM-Based Chatbot developed entirely at SRTI Park. This domain knowledge-based LLM offers a conversational interaction platform that can serve as a multi-disciplinary tool to enhance organisational performance. Insights were shared on how AI factories could drive regional innovation and provide globally scalable solutions.
The event also included a tour of SRTI Park's facilities, including the SoiLab (Sharjah Open Innovation Lab), where officials introduced attendees to the ecosystem's infrastructure and offerings.
