The Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity announced the kidnapping of the Director of Security of Ghat, Major General "Ali Al-Bahi", from his home at dawn yesterday, Monday, by a group it said was "affiliated with the Sabha Internal Security, which exploited the circumstances that Ghat is going through due to the bad weather conditions." The ministry said in a statement today, Tuesday, that it seeks "to unify security efforts throughout the Libyan territory, and its goal is to maintain security and stability," and that such acts that "are committed outside the framework of the law by kidnapping officials and threatening others affiliated with the Government of National Unity are wrong and illegal acts." In its statement, which was published on its official page, the ministry held the perpetrators of this act responsible for the health and safety of the Director of Security, pledging to take legal measures regarding the incident and to hold those responsible accountable and prosecute them legally.
