The Turkish team for the deaf stands in solidarity with Gaza in a match against Ukraine
Together – The Turkish team for the deaf showed its support for Gaza before facing its Ukrainian counterpart in the semi-finals of the European Deaf Football Championship in its tenth edition yesterday, Thursday, which was held on Turkish soil.
The Turkish national team players entered the field wearing T-shirts reading ‘Rafah,’ and carrying a large banner reading, ‘We hear the cry of Palestine.’
The three-week-long Israeli attack on Rafah in Gaza sparked global condemnation after an air strike last Sunday that killed at least 45 people when a fire broke out in a camp in the western region.
The Israeli army continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip, for the 238th day in a row, which has caused the death of 36,224 people, most of them women and children, since the outbreak of the war on the seventh of last October, an infinite toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble.
Returning to the course of the match, the Turkish team lost to Ukraine 2-0 in the semi-finals.
In the other semi-fina
l match, France beat Italy 3-0 to qualify to face Ukraine in the European Championship final, and the two sides will meet at Mardan Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, at 17:00 local time.
Meanwhile, Turkey will play against Italy on the same day at 10:30 at the Calista Sports Center in a match for third place.
