Beijing: H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, has met with participants of the First UAE Second-Tier Leadership Executive Programme in China. This event, held from 21st October until 4th November 2025, operated under the theme 'Bridging Nations, Building Leaders'.
According to Emirates News Agency, the programme involved 30 officials from 24 federal and local government entities. The primary objectives included fostering mutual understanding and enhancing cooperation between the UAE and China across several sectors. The initiative aimed to boost the capabilities of second-tier Emirati leaders by examining Chinese models in governance, innovation, economic growth, education, and sustainability. Participants were encouraged to establish professional networks with Chinese leaders, experts, and officials to promote future collaboration.
Sheikh Theyab emphasized that this programme reflects the UAE leadership's vision of investing in its people and equipping them with global knowledge and expertise to support the nation's ongoing development. He noted that such initiatives are part of a comprehensive strategy to prepare and qualify national talent for future leadership, thereby strengthening the UAE's global position and improving government performance.
He expressed confidence that the programme's participants would act as ambassadors of UAE-China cooperation in fields focused on the future. He praised the organizing entities, particularly the UAE Embassy in Beijing, for their role in implementing the programme alongside the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and with support from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Such initiatives, he noted, are vital for preparing a new generation of leaders capable of facilitating cultural and economic exchanges between the two nations.
The programme introduced participants to China's advancements in governance, innovation, sustainable economic development, education, technology, artificial intelligence, and creative industries. It also included field visits to academic, technological, and economic institutions in Beijing and the Fujian Province.
