Top Female Triathletes to Compete in Dubai T100 Event

Dubai:The Dubai T100 Triathlon organizing committee has announced that 19 leading female professional triathletes will compete at Al Mamzar on November 14. The event is organized and supported by the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and Dubai Sports Council.

According to Wam, Switzerland's Julie Derron heads the field as she seeks to defend her Dubai T100 title and extend her lead in the T100 Race to Qatar standings. This competition serves as a crucial event ahead of the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final, scheduled to take place in Doha from December 10 to 12.

Dubai marks the last of the four women's races this season, providing the final opportunity for athletes to score points and improve their standings before the world champion is decided. The professional start list includes notable athletes such as Great Britain's Georgia Taylor-Brown, Germany's Bianca Bogen, New Zealand's Nicole van der Kaay, and Spain's Sara Pérez Sala, among others.

This season's T100 Triathlon World Tour is divided into four women's and four men's races, with both fields coming together in Doha in December. Each race offers a US$50,000 winner's prize, which is double the amount awarded last year. Sam Renouf, CEO of the Professional Triathletes Organisation, emphasized the importance of the Dubai event as the last opportunity for women to score points before the Qatar championship, highlighting the tightly contested standings.
