Abu dhabi: TRENDS Research and Advisory has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korea Information and Communication Technology Industry Association (KICTA), aiming to enhance research cooperation and exchange expertise in social, political, and economic studies related to technological transformations. The MoU was signed by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Jang Young Ro, Chairman of KICTA.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement is designed to support original, evidence-based research and apply its outcomes to benefit society and decision-makers. It also seeks to expand the knowledge base and strengthen both local and global research partnerships. The areas of cooperation include conducting joint studies and field surveys, exchanging experts and non-resident researchers, and organising scientific events such as conferences, symposia, and workshops. Additionally, the agreement involves exchanging scientific publications and journals and co-authoring research reports.
Dr. Al-Ali highlighted that this MoU marks a new step in TRENDS' efforts to establish distinguished international partnerships, which will enhance its role in advancing research and addressing societal issues. Ro, on his part, stated that the agreement lays a solid foundation for strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in research and development and opens up avenues for knowledge and expertise exchange between both parties.
