TRENDS Explores Strategic Cooperation with Belgian Entities

Brussels: TRENDS Research and Advisory initiated its research tour in Belgium, engaging in a discussion session with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Institute for International Relations, known as Egmont. The focus was on exploring cooperation and strategic partnerships with Belgian think tanks, academic institutions, and universities to exchange knowledge, expertise, and collaborate on joint research and scientific events.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussion highlighted opportunities for long-term cooperation through joint studies and academic exchange. It also addressed Belgium's strategic priorities in the Gulf region and explored how TRENDS' expertise can support policymaking, foster mutual understanding, and advance diplomatic efforts. The aim is to activate platforms for dialogue between experts and academics from the European Union and the Gulf region.

The session, held at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, included participants such as Valerie Cuvelier, Advisor for Gulf Countries at the Ministry, Pol De Witte, Director General of Egmont, and a group of experts and researchers from TRENDS. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships between research institutions and think tanks in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

Dr. Al-Ali highlighted the need to promote dialogue and bridge perspectives on regional and global issues through research and studies. Valerie Cuvelier noted the significance of cooperation with active think tanks like TRENDS in fostering communication and dialogue among policymakers and experts. She pointed out the potential for collaboration in areas such as advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, economics, and sustainable development, which are shared priorities for the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Pol De Witte expressed Egmont's interest in deepening European understanding of the Gulf's economic and developmental directions. He emphasized that collaboration with TRENDS facilitates mutual understanding and convergence of perspectives.
