Abu dhabi: TRENDS Global, in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation Middle East (ORFME), is set to host its second economic dialogue titled 'Balancing Connectivity and Economic Security: Post-Conflict Strategies for the Global South and the MENA Region'. The event is scheduled for Thursday, 20th August, 2026, at the Observer headquarters at Dubai World Trade Centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, Awadh Al Breiki, Director-General of TRENDS Global, emphasized that the dialogue aims to address economic challenges faced by countries in the Global South and the Middle East and North Africa region following the US-Israeli-Iranian conflict. The primary goal is to develop an economic model that combines global market integration with national security protection.
The discussions will focus on critical areas such as food and water security and financial sovereignty. Comprehensive strategies will be presented to diversify partners and supply chains, localize strategic industries, and build resilient financial and monetary systems. Additionally, the dialogue will explore expanding economic zones to attract investment and establishing robust interdependence within trade and logistics sectors.
