TRENDS Research and Advisory announced that it has now formally joined the GDI-PartNIR network. The announcement was made at the BRICS Forum held in Xiamen, China. TRENDS is the first think tank from the Middle East to join this global network, which accepted 23 new members in 2024. TRENDS was selected to join the network thanks to its research exploring regionally and globally significant issues and expanding public understanding of policy issues. Commenting on this achievement, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, expressed his delight in the center's acceptance in the GDI-PartNIR network, noting that this step reflects TRENDS' commitment to fostering international cooperation in scientific research and knowledge exchange. He expressed confidence that the partnership would strengthen relations between the Middle East and China, opening new avenues for collaboration in various fields. The GDI-PartNIR network supports the Global Development Initiative under President Xi Jinping of China, and foc uses on promoting shared development opportunities including green development, new industrialisation, and the digital economy. TRENDS' membership in this network is expected to enhance its collaboration with Chinese think tanks and expand its scope to address global issues of shared interest, such as sustainable development, climate challenges, and digital transformation.
