Trump Labels White House Dinner Shooter as ‘Lone Wolf’

Washington: US President Donald Trump stated his belief that the gunman who disrupted the White House Correspondents' Dinner acted as a 'lone wolf.' Trump's comments came after the suspect stormed the event, causing panic and raising concerns about potential links to the ongoing conflict in Iran. However, Trump dismissed these concerns, suggesting that there was no connection.

According to Emirates News Agency, the suspect has been identified as Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old resident of Torrance, California. Allen is scheduled to be formally charged in court on Monday. Interim Washington, D.C., police chief Jeffery Carroll reported that Allen was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives during the attack, which occurred shortly after the event commenced at 8:36 p.m. at the Washington Hilton.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that Allen will face two charges: using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. The incident has heightened security concerns surrounding high-profile events in the nation's capital.
