Typhoon ‘Dolphin’ Strikes Twice in Zhejiang, Disrupts Flights

Abu dhabi: Typhoon ''Dolphin'', the 13th typhoon of the year, made its second landfall at Yueqing City in east China's Zhejiang Province at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, said the National Meteorological Center (NMC). According to Emirates News Agency, the maximum sustained wind near the typhoon center reached Force 13, or 38 meters per second. This marked the typhoon's second strike in the region after initially making landfall at Yuhuan in Taizhou City, Zhejiang, at around 5:30 p.m., where it recorded maximum sustained wind at Force 14. As a result of the typhoon's impact, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport in Hangzhou City, the capital of Zhejiang, canceled 388 inbound and outbound flights for the day. The NMC has issued warnings to local authorities in the affected areas to be vigilant against extreme downpours.
