Arusha:Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the UAE Federal National Council Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), emphasized the importance of consultation and partnership in building modern institutions. This approach, guided by the UAE's leadership under President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, forms the foundation for effective governance and societal development.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Nuaimi addressed the 153rd IPU Assembly in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania, highlighting that the UAE's leadership prioritizes the rule of law, fairness, and the impact of decisions on people’s lives as essential components of good governance. He emphasized that at the international level, the credibility of governance is assessed by its consistency and impartiality.
Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored that the UAE's success is not only measured by its legislative achievements but also by the opportunities and dignity it provides to its people. He stressed that the UAE's approach involves continuous institutional reviews to meet societal needs, ensuring people remain central to national progress.
He also pointed out the importance of international parliamentary action in building trust and achieving tangible outcomes that enhance security and dignity. Dr. Al Nuaimi called for genuine actions from parliaments to uphold democracy and the rule of law without selectivity, emphasizing the need for equality in the application of international principles and the protection of civilian rights.
He concluded by urging parliamentarians to use governance, inclusion, and innovation as tools to serve people, ensuring these values are central to every decision and policy within the Inter-Parliamentary Union framework.
