Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences have successfully engaged 23 ballistic missiles and 56 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. This marks a significant escalation in the ongoing hostilities between the two nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, since the onset of these Iranian attacks, UAE's air defences have been challenged with engaging a total of 498 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2,141 UAVs. These defensive measures have been critical in mitigating the impact of the attacks.
The hostilities have resulted in the martyrdom of two UAE armed forces members while they were performing their national duty. Additionally, a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces was also martyred. The attacks claimed the lives of ten other individuals, including nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, and Egypt.
A total of 217 people sustained injuries, with the severity ranging from minor to severe. The injured include individuals from a wide array of nationalities, encompassing the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, Tunisia, Morocco, and Russia.
