UAE Air Defences Engage Six Ballistic Missiles, Nine UAVs From Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems engaged six ballistic missiles and nine UAVs launched from Iran on March 27, 2026. Since the start of these Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have been actively involved in intercepting a total of 378 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,835 UAVs.

According to Emirates News Agency, the series of attacks have led to the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces who were performing their national duty. Additionally, a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces lost his life, along with eight other fatalities comprising individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.

A total of 171 people sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from a wide array of countries such as the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence has affirmed its full preparedness and readiness to deal with any threats. It has committed to confronting any actions aimed at undermining the security of the country, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability, while safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
