UAE Air Defences Engage Three Ballistic Missiles, Eight UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems on 21st March 2026 engaged three ballistic missiles and eight UAVs launched from Iran.

According to Emirates News Agency, since the onset of the Iranian aggression, UAE air defences have engaged a total of 341 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,748 UAVs.

These attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces while performing their national duty. Additionally, six fatalities were reported among individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities. A total of 160 people sustained injuries, with the severity ranging from minor to severe. The injured included individuals from a diverse range of nationalities, including UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence affirmed its readiness to deal with any threats and emphasized its commitment to confronting any attempts to undermine state security. The Ministry assured that measures will be taken to ensure the protection of the nation's sovereignty, security, and stability, while safeguarding national interests and capabilities.
