UAE Air Defences Intercept 11 Ballistic Missiles, 27 UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences on 30th March 2026 intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 27 UAVs launched from Iran. Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have engaged a total of 425 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,941 UAVs.

According to Emirates News Agency, the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 2 members of the armed forces while performing their national duty, in addition to the martyrdom of a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces. There were also 8 fatalities among individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationalities. A total of 178 people were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured included nationals from a wide range of countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence affirmed its full preparedness and readiness to deal with any threats, emphasizing a firm stance against any actions that aim to undermine the security of the country. The ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring the protection of the UAE's sovereignty, security, and stability, and safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
