Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences on 31st March 2026 engaged eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 36 UAVs launched from Iran. Since the start of the blatant Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have engaged 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 1,977 UAVs.
According to Emirates News Agency, the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces who were performing their national duty. Additionally, a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces was martyred. There were eight fatalities involving individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationalities.
A total of 188 people sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe. The injured included nationals from a wide array of countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
The Ministry of Defence affirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to address any threats. The ministry emphasized its commitment to firmly confront any attempts to undermine the security of the country, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability, while safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
