UAE Air Defences Successfully Intercept Missiles and UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences on Tuesday successfully intercepted 5 ballistic missiles and 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. These defence operations are part of ongoing efforts to protect the nation's security and stability against repeated aggressive actions from Iran.

According to Emirates News Agency, since the beginning of these attacks, UAE forces have intercepted a total of 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,806 UAVs. The persistent attacks have tragically resulted in the martyrdom of two UAE armed forces members while fulfilling their national duties. Additionally, six civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities have lost their lives due to these aggressions.

In total, 161 individuals have sustained injuries from these attacks, with the severity ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from a broad spectrum of countries, such as the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence has reiterated its commitment to remaining fully prepared and ready to counter any threats. It emphasized its resolve to confront anything that threatens to undermine the country's security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty and safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
