Abu dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that on Monday, April 6, 2026, the country's air defences intercepted a series of aerial threats launched from Iran. The interception included 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 19 UAVs.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE air defences have been actively responding to these threats since the onset of the Iranian attacks. To date, a total of 519 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,210 drones have been intercepted by the UAE forces. Despite the severity of the attacks, there were no deaths reported in the past few hours. However, four individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe, adding to a total of 221 injuries since the beginning of the attacks.
The injured hail from a wide range of nationalities, reflecting the diversity of the UAE's population. Among those injured are nationals from countries including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and the Philippines, along with numerous others from across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
While no new fatalities occurred in the recent attacks, the overall toll stands at two UAE martyrs and one Moroccan civilian contractor. Civilian fatalities have reached 10, involving nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, and Egypt. The UAE's defence strategy continues to focus on minimizing casualties and protecting its citizens and residents amidst ongoing hostilities.
